National Museum of Scotland-9 - a photo on Flickriver

            On the roof terrace at the National Museum of Scotland.

I was very impressed with the museums architecture both old and new. The exhibition design is also sublime.  In short it's one of the best museums I've ever been lucky enough to visit. 

The National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, was formed in 2006 with the merger of the new Museum of Scotland (1998, Benson & Forsyth), with the adjacent Royal Museum (1866, Francis Fowke)

The new Museum of Scotland was awarded runner up in the 1998 Stirling prize (Benson & Forsyth). The Royal museum half of the building, underwent a major refurbishment and reopened in 2011 after a three-year, £47 million project to restore and extend the building led by Gareth Hoskins Architects.
