CHANGING SCENE....

            50049 Defiance passes the site of Withington station between Ledbury and Hereford in June 1981. The double track is still in use! Paddington to Hereford working.
I have an album which has a small number of photos taken at Withington [Withington Comparisons!].

Living in Worcester at the time it was more likely that locations on the way to Hereford were visited that were on the main Worcester to Hereford Road. This meant that Malvern, Colwall and Ledbury were rarely visited. Trips out to the Malvern Hills were usually excluding train photo opportunities. It was not until the line was singled and the 50's were in Large Logo livery that I started to make up for this. Virtually all the pictures from this latter period are in the ownership of  Martin Loader [see the Hondawanderer site].
