            In the quiet of the countryside, 
There stands a tree so grand. 
Her branches reaching up to the sky, 
Roots buried deep in the land. 

A long-haul trucker passes by, 
And stops by the tree each time. 
He sits beneath her leafy canopy, 
As if she were a sanctuary sublime. 

People passing by take notice, 
Of the trucker and the tree's bond. 
They whisper and they gossip, 
About a love they don't understand. 

But the tree just stands tall and proud, 
Her leaves rustling in the breeze. 
And when the trucker comes around, 
She whispers softly, put at ease. 

"We've got to stop meeting like this, my love," 
The tree says with a gentle sigh. 
"But I can't help but long for your presence, 
Underneath my branches so high." 

For the trucker finds solace in the tree, 
A refuge from the road and the noise. 
And in return, he brings her stories, 
Of places he's seen and joys. 

So let them gossip and whisper, 
Their words falling on deaf ears. 
For the bond between the trucker and the tree, 
Is a love that will withstand the years.
