            MAJ: Antoine avait 93 ans, et il est parti la haut quelque part...

Antoine a 92 ans. C'est un bon français bien de chez nous. Il a travaillé toute sa vie chez un employeur qui a "oublié" de le déclarer. Résultat, il touche une maigre retraite de moins de 300 euros pas mois. Alors il se lève tous les matins à 5h, été comme hiver et dimanche comme lundi. Il cultive un petit bout de terrain avec des vrais légumes frais, tomates, salade, carottes, courgettes, poivrons, concombres, etc... Et puis des poules et des lapins qu'on lui vole souvent. On lui a même empoisonné deux bergers allemands pour lui voler des tomates...Il vit de ses récoltes, alors je lui en achète le plus que je peux, un peu de tout que je redistribue. Et puis si vous goutiez ses tomates et ses salades!! C'est un grand moment !. C'est incroyable comme ça ne ressemble en rien à tous ces trucs en plastiques qu'on essaye de nous fourguer dans tous les supers marchés dirigés certainement pas des gens qui n'ont jamais connu le vrai goût juteux, parfumé, fruité , moelleux et divin des fruits et légumes d'antan.
Mais Antoine à 92 ans, il a perdu sa femme il y a moins d'un an, et depuis bien sûr plus rien n'est pareil. Et lui aussi est fatigué, éreinté, usé, tordu et malade. Mais tous les jours il est là et il se bât. Chapeau Antoine. Il m'a permis de faire ces quelques images sans prétention, juste pour montrer qui il est et ce qu'il fait et défend.

Antoine was 93, and he went up there somewhere...

Antoine is 92 years old. He's a good Frenchman from home. He has worked all his life for an employer who "forgot" to declare it. As a result, he receives a meagre pension of less than 300 euros per month. So he gets up every morning at 5am, summer and winter and Sunday as Monday. He cultivates a small piece of land with real fresh vegetables, tomatoes, salad, carrots, courgettes, peppers, cucumbers, etc... And then chickens and rabbits that are often stolen from him. He has even had two German shepherds poisoned to steal tomatoes from him... He lives off his crops, so I buy as many as I can, a little bit of everything and redistribute it. Why don't you taste his tomatoes and salads! This is a great moment!.. It's incredible how it's nothing like all the plastic stuff they're trying to sell us in all the great markets run by people who've never known the real juicy, flavoured, fruity, mellow and divine taste of the fruits and vegetables of yesteryear.
But Antoine, at 92 years old, lost his wife less than a year ago, and since then, of course, nothing is the same. And he too is tired, exhausted, worn out, twisted and sick. But every day he's here and he's fighting. Hats off to Antoine. He allowed me to make these few unpretentious images, just to show who he is and what he does and defends.
