*Swallowtail in the evening sun* - a photo on Flickriver

            Swallowtail in a natural meadow on the heights of the southern Eifel (rummaged deep in the archive).

On a warm summer evening, swallowtails often catch the last rays of sunshine, visible from afar, but are already sitting in the previously selected sleeping place. If you get too close to them, they simply fly away. Here I had enough distance to prevent it from flying away, but there is more of a “meadow feeling”.

An einem warmen Sommerabend pflegen Schwalbenschwänze oft weithin sichtbar die letzten Sonnenstrahlen einzufangen, sitzen aber bereits an dem zuvor ausgewählten Schlafplatz. Kommt man ihnen zu nah, dann fliegen sie einfach weg. Hier hatte ich genügend Abstand, um das wegfliegen zu verhindern, dafür gibt es mehr "Wiesenfeeling".
