20110801 Pioneers

The Metro Bridge over the river Dniepnr in Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine.

A mixed rail and road bridge built in the 1965 for the expanding Kiev metro system, the bridge features two statues called the young pioneers: a young woman releasing doves of peace, and a young man releasing the Sputnik satellite.

Taken with my Nikon D40, fitted with a Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD (Nikon AFS) lens and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.
