Schwanthalerhöhe - Die endlose Treppe „Umschreibung“ I-II

            ENG: View a work of art by Ólafur Elíasson at any time and for free? That's possible in Munich's Westend-Schwanthalerhöhe. That's because the "endless staircase" is located in an inner courtyard at Ganghoferstrasse 29. Officially, the work of the Icelandic-Danish artist is called "Umschreibung" - since 2004, you can admire it in the backyard of the trust company KMPG. The staircase is nine meters high and leads to nowhere, because it is self-contained. That is, as soon as you reach the top, it automatically goes down again. It is forbidden to enter, but not to take pictures!

GER: Jederzeit und umsonst ein Kunstwerk von Ólafur Elíasson angucken? Das geht im Münchner Westend-Schwanthalerhöhe. Denn dort steht in einem Innenhof in der Ganghoferstraße 29 die „endlose Treppe“. Offiziell heißt das Werk des isländisch-dänischen Künstlers „Umschreibung“ – seit 2004 kann man es in dem Hinterhof der Treuhandgesellschaft KMPG bewundern. Neun Meter hoch ist die Treppe und führt ins Nirgendwo, denn sie ist in sich geschlossen. Das heißt, sobald man oben angekommen ist, geht es automatisch wieder herunter. Das Betreten ist zwar verboten, das Fotografieren allerdings nicht!
