'E' is for Euro (€) - a photo on Flickriver

            February Alphabet Fun Month, 2024 edition.

The Euro was introduced in 1999, with the coins and bills following in 2002.  20 of the 27 countries in the European Union use the Euro as currency.  

Similar to the United States with it's 25 cent quarters representing states and territories, the "heads" side of Euro coins represent the countries in the EU.   There are, however, a few countries in the European Union that do not use the Euro, but their own, original currency.
