Neutral Bay Boosting Station Gas Regulator 1985 Sydney

            Neutral Bay Gas Boosting Station, Sydney. 
The 24" Braddock gas regulator or governor, regulated low pressure gas to the nearby suburbs, using  the balance beam arm principle.
The site, operated as a gasworks for the North Shore Gas Company,  manufacturing ‘town gas’, from the 1880s until 1932,  supplying the North Shore of Sydney. The site remained as a gas pressure boosting station therafter, finally,  closing down in 1982, following a merger with the Australian Gas Light Company ( AGL Co), as natural gas made inroads into the Northern suburbs, and the buildings were demolished in  1985.
