Sculptor Meredith Bergmann's Abigail Adams seems to be contemplating Boston from a perspective of 200 years. At the Boston Women's Memorial on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston's Back Bay.

Abigail Adams, wife of John Adams, second president of the United States, and mother of John Quincy Adams, sixth president, is remembered today for the letters she wrote to her husband during the Constitutional Convention (1787). Best known is her request that he and the Continental Congress:

...remember the ladies, and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors. ...Remember all Men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the Laidies we are determined to foment a Rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any Laws in which we have no voice, or Representation.
