Fishermen's huts, Cove, Scottish Borders

The a beautiful little harbour at Cove is said to be the least spoiled in south-east Scotland. It is reached either by a fairly steep track that curls around the headland or through an unusual tunnel excavated by hand under the headland in the 18th century. There are several old fish cellars inside the tunnel, but these have now been bricked up. The harbour is Category B listed. The harbour, which dates from 1829-31, is privately owned, and when we visited there were a couple of inshore fishing boats tied up alongside the quay with its stone-built fishermen's huts.
