Tinker, Behind Something Old - a photo on Flickriver

            The big iron gates are from the early 1900's  Between the 12 foot netted gates (yes, which I put the netting on,) you can see there is much chagrin showing on Tinker's sweet face! He is daunted! 

The antique dealer whom we bought the gates from had purchased them for a home in New Orleans! Well, they were not "period appropriate" for where his house was, and that is a big deal in the historic districts. SO! Funny that we bought them- they didn't go to our little New Orleans cottage, but are a mainstay here at Riversong on the Elk River in north Alabama!

Tinker was our last holdout of cats we couldn't keep inside the fence, until we discovered that he was climbing the huge columns of the pergola we had built on that side of the house, and jumping onto the roof to get out! We had the columns wrapped in a composite material a few weeks ago and it is too slick for his wily claws to dig into! We are SO thrilled that at last, he is safe from predators in the woods around here!

Our fenced cat-safe yard is 1/3 of an acre and has giant climb-on toys to bask on and run through as well as a "kitty cabin," that is 10 x 12, with shelves and perches- also knows as "Ken's Cat House!" LOL! Not like Tinker doesn't have enough room to be on his own, but alas- he does pace the perimeter like a little caged tiger.
