The dazzling secret of the blue-black males of the Shining Rush Damselfly

            Die Glänzende Binsenjungfer ist eine Libellenart, die in Europa verbreitet ist. Sie zeichnet sich durch ihre auffällige Färbung und ihr glänzendes Erscheinungsbild aus. Die Männchen haben eine blau-schwarze Körperfarbe, während die Weibchen eher grünlich-gelblich sind. Die Glänzende Binsenjungfer lebt in der Nähe von Gewässern, vor allem in sumpfigen Gebieten und an Teichrändern. Dort ernährt sie sich von kleinen Insekten und anderen Beutetieren. Die Art ist nicht gefährdet und stellt keine Bedrohung für den Menschen dar.

The shiny damselfly is a dragonfly species that is widespread in Europe. It is characterised by its striking colouration and shiny appearance. The males have a blue-black body colour, while the females are more greenish-yellowish. The Glossy Damselfly lives near bodies of water, especially in marshy areas and at the edges of ponds. There it feeds on small insects and other prey. The species is not endangered and does not pose a threat to humans.
