87 017, Iliyantsi Yard (BG), 13/09/19

            "Iron Duke"

Quite apt a name really for its duty, 87.017 is manoeuvring its train of loaded scrap wagons in Iliyantsi Yard ready for departure via the Sofia avoiding line and then onwards to Pernik via  Volujak and Razmenna. 85.001 (ex-86205) was the helper machine on the rear of the train. Both machines had arrived from Burgas, running overnight with a train to Kremikovtsi.

The train had originated at Brasov in Romania and travelled to Bulgaria via Giurgiu Nord and Ruse to reach Iliyantsi.

Traditionally, Bulmarket were always associated with the movement of chemicals and petroleum but have been branching out into other traffic of late.

To the right of the train can be seen a line of Bulgarian Railway Company (BZK/BRC) locos with 87019 at the head but with 87033 and 87007 also in view.
