1963 Beetle @ VW Action '80 - a photo on Flickriver

1963 Beetle @ VW Action '80

            Custom concours winner - VW Action 1980.  Built by local lad Andy Pearce who went on to be a bit of a face on the early cal-look scene, initially when he built TLF25 - 1954 oval window which was one of the four UK Beetles featured in the American  'Hot VWs'  magazine's early '80s  feature on the UK scene, which launched a thousand clones and the 'Bug Jam' type of shows.

Coincidentally,  the basis of that cal looker, TLF25, was bought from one Keith Seume, and the previous incarnation of it  (Metallic green and fat alloy wheels) in 'Beetling' magazine in the '70s where Mr.  Seume wrote the customising feature,  was the inspiration behind this one you see here!    Full circle!
KS went on to found the successful 'Volksworld' mag.

The number 9072KM survives locally on a successionr of executive motors (Jags etc) owned by a local factory manager with KM initials.  Not sure if the Beetle surviived?
