Boronia Peak Sunset - a photo on Flickriver

The view from the summit of the Boronia Peak Trail just after the sun had dipped below the horizon.

I had some shots with the foreground in focus however I really like the depth created by the framing of the rocks and layering of the mountains.

Another feature of this photograph that I like is the combination of colour from the sunset with the stars - particularly the southern cross in the top left.

The Boronia Peak Trail is a short 2/3 hour return hike and the track is in reasonable condition. This was taken from the highest, southeastern ridge above the small town of Halls Gap, which is located in the Grampians National Park, Victoria, Australia,
