Kingfisher ... My First... So HAPPY!!!

            We are having a busy weekend of DIY in the C.I.T household this weekend but to get out we decided to go a little walk and take the cameras this morning along the Water of Leith. There had been otters spotted there a few days ago so we thought nothing ventured nothing gained! 

We never seen otters... but out of the corner of my eye I seen that electric blue flash... A Kingfisher... A bird I have wanted to photograph for a long time in the wild. Well he was fast... and he didn't stop long anywhere... but thankfully he stopped long enough for me to get this one shot away. It literally is the only shot I took and at a higher ISO than I'd have liked but the wood was dull... Im amazed I got the focus spot on too as it was through branches but I didn't have time to move to get a clearer shot. You can see there must have been a branch almost right across him. Normally I think such a lot of branches in the background does not work... but to be fair... this time I think it actually gives the shot context. It is quite a severe crop too... but needs must! 

For my first in the wild kingfisher shot! Im happy!
