First Sight - a photo on Flickriver

First Sight

I defo should have tried using the 1.6 crop function on my R6 today but at the time I didn't think about it. We had heard lapwings when walking in the Moorfoot hills so I went back today in the hope of trying to photograph one as the first outing with my new camera. We didn't have too much time but we spent an hour just waiting where we had last seen them to try and get pictures.

If you have never heard a lapwing they are electric sounding birds... like a kids space invaders game! They are interesting colourful birds and quite acrobatic in the air!

They didn't come so close today but I managed to get this one shot. It was too dark to get anything decent of them in flight so to be honest I didn't even try and took the odd long lens landscape shot instead.

The focusing ability of the R6 looks to be all I had hoped for... of course it will be fooled but I can already see it defo offers a much improved autofocus system than the 7d mike had!
