the painter of the night - a photo on Flickriver

            The Uffizi Gallery Museum with the Palazzo Vecchio and the Arnolfo Tower in the background

Now, this image was much more work than I am normally prepared to invest in editing. I like this composition very much but the problem with it was that there was a gigantic crane right next to the Arnolfo Tower, which totally ruined the frame for me, especially because the crane was blocking the view of the belfry. As a matter of fact, I've been to Florence quite a few times and, to my great bafflement, that crane has been there as long as I can remember. However, this time I decided to take the shot anyway and see if it could be salvaged in post. After about an hour of tedious work on editing out the crane, I managed to get the image you're seeing now. Hopefully, you won't think it's too bad. (BTW, I also removed the crane from the panoramic shot of Florence, but that was much easier to do as it was poorly visible to begin with, due to the distance and low light)
