Sambro Island Lighthouse - a photo on Flickriver

            Historic Sambro Island Lighthouse in Nova Scotia, Canada.  Lighthouse was constructed in 1760 and is a 20.7 m (68 ft) octagonal stone tower covered with wood shingles -  42.7 m (140 ft) focal plane and a 23 mile range.  Automated in 1988.

Designated by the Government of Canada in 1996 as a Classified Federal Heritage Building (FHBRO Building Report 95-34) and is listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places.  Also designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1937.
