Shanghai - Garden Bridge - a photo on Flickriver

Lit purple. This is part of a colour sequence - also see first comment below the photo. The Garden Bridge (Chinese name: 外白渡桥 waibaiduqiao) is the oldest and most famous bridge in downtown Shanghai. Completed in 1907, it crosses Suzhou Creek from the Huangpu to the Hongkou district. Length 106.7m. View larger on a black background.

In the right background is another Shanghai landmark, Broadway Mansions, a 19 floor art-deco building completed in 1935. At night this scenery puts the visitor right into mid-1930ties Shanghai.
