Isn't It Great?

            Every year, I try to mark my birthday with a picture taken in SL, a still-frame of my journey over the past year, how I've changed... how I've grown. Upon first glance, this picture might not seem like much. How far from the truth this is...

In the past year, I've grown more comfortable with the person I've become. I've learned to embrace myself more and to accept my wounds and scars I've gotten over the years... and I've come to love them. It feels so strange to say that... but it's true. I am embracing my own magic, my heart and soul. 

On top of it, this day marks the anniversary of me opening my shop, Be My Mannequin? Pose Store. It was a present to myself, to do something I'd been wanting to seriously get into, but was too afraid to. See, before BMM?, I had another store called Ravenous Studio Poses. I didn't invest much into it. I was too afraid to grow and learn. But last year, I finally got tired of being so afraid. So I took the jump, re-branded my store, and dove right in, taking it very seriously. Truth is... I didn't expect it to last longer than 3 months. I had hoped, sure! But many businesses don't make it long-term. There was a time or two where I almost threw in the towel and said I was done. But the love and support around me has been so amazing that it kept me going and striving to improve and learn and grow. Now, Be My Mannequin? is celebrating one year. It blows my mind. 

Still, that's not all! The pose I'm using, Luminosity, has been my biggest selling pose. Let me explain why that's so significant to me. See, I made this pose as part of the #GuardYourLight challenge. Originally, it was going to be just for myself, but I decided to put it out, thinking it would just get a couple of sales but nobody would truly be interested in it. This pose was made as a representation of me FINALLY finding my own light and energy and love important enough to guard it and not let just anyone have access to it. That was the moment, as I snapped the picture, that I realized I finally do truly accept the person I am and who I am growing into. It was and is a simple pose, but it's the one that meant the most to me out of all the poses I've made for my store. And for it to be the number one seller... it brings me such happy tears. Thank you.
