Another from last Thursdays visit to Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival, this time it's 'Vessels', one of three installations currently situated in the Crossrail Place Roof Garden.

It was fascinating to stand and watch a seemingly endless stream of geometric shapes get drawn with lasers inside these glass boxes.

Whilst this isn't as sharp as I'd have liked thanks to the relatively slow shutter speed, I liked the internal reflections and the little boy stood right in the middle who appeared just as mesmerised as I was......

From canarywharf.com, "Vessels is a sculpture where science, technology and culture collide. A modern take on monuments that brought people together in ancient civilisations to contemplate and celebrate the sun. Lasers create vivid three-dimensional forms that shift and transform within three monolithic pyramid structures. The volumetric lighting created by the lasers, dances in synchronisation with melodic music.

From the stone circles of England to the Pyramids of Egypt, monolithic structures were built across the globe as a centre point for rituals to take place – where light would interact with the structure resulting in transcendent experiences for collective audiences."
