Mountain Magic: 'An Incredible Journey Trough Nature'

Marco was back in Bavaria last summer. As a child he had been there once with his parents and the impressive area has always held a huge attraction for him ever since. He decided to take a long walk. Marco walked for many hours that day. When he arrived at the beautiful town of Lohberg, he was enchanted by the beauty of the green mountain landscape that stretched out before him. It reminded him of that time in Bavaria when he was a child. A time when there were no major problems for him. It was also a time when his parents and one of his close friends were still alive. The adventurer took a sip of his water and followed his heart. Without thinking he took a deep breath and as he exhaled he looked up. There in that elusive sky he once again saw an impressive cloud formation. He took another sip of the spring water, which tasted deliciously sweet this time. Much sweeter than before. That was the moment when he took out his old damaged smartphone again. He once learned from a good friend at an open day at the local shooting club the importance of aiming correctly, watching your breathing and pulling the trigger without moving. It earned him a third prize while it was the first time in his life that he had seen a rifle in real life. The veteran members of the club were as stunned as Marco himself when he was called to the podium at the awards ceremony. His experienced friend won the first price. His comrade was also a huge fan of photography. A few years later, the young man unfortunately died due to an incurable disease. Today it was exactly 25 years ago that Marco visited the open day at the shooting club. As a kind of tribute to his good friend, Marco held up his smartphone with both hands. In his mind he held the rifle from then. Marco scanned the area he wanted to photograph and positioned his smartphone. He took a concentrated breath. As he exhaled, he pressed the button on the camera and without moving he took the picture. In his mind, the sound of the camera clicking sounded just like his last shot at the shooting club. The photo was like a bull's-eye for him. Spontaneously, Marco then decided to continue his walk in the grass barefoot. He hadn't planned this at all when he left his hotel in the morning and had bought new shoes especially for this trip in which he could enjoy walking. Yet there was something in him that told him to take them off for a while. It turned out to be a good idea. The grass provided cooling on this sun-drenched hot summer day. He really felt like he was walking on a soft green natural carpet. All his worries and fears seemed to vanish as he continued his walk on the grass in the Bavarian town of Lohberg. As Marco walked deeper into the nature area, he felt a wave of peace and calm he hadn't felt so often before. He felt connected to the earth beneath his feet, to nature and to the mysterious energy of the clouds that stretched above him. The combination of the warm sun and the thoughts of his parents and friend made the skin on his arms tingle with joy. It was different from the goosebumps he had often felt when he thought of dead people. He now really felt as if he had stepped into a surreal world and he was now sure that the deceased friend and his parents were with him at that moment. It was like an reminder that their spirit was alive. When he put his shoes back on, it was as if he was walking on clouds. At the end of the walk, his mind was clear and his heart was filled with blissful energy.

Marco was vorige jaar zomer weer even terug in Beieren. Als kind was hij daar ooit geweest met zijn ouders en het indrukwekkende gebied heeft sindsdien altijd een enorme aantrekkingskracht gehad op hem. Hij besloot om een lange wandeling te maken. Bij het zien van dit prachtige berglandschap werd hij weer herinnerd aan die onbezonnen tijd. Een tijd waarin er voor hem nog geen grote problemen waren. Het was ook een tijd dat zijn ouders en een van zijn goede vrienden nog leefden. Marco liep die dag vele uren achter elkaar. Toen hij bij het prachtige plaatsje Lohberg aankwam, werd hij betoverd door de schoonheid van het groene berglandschap dat zich voor hem uitstrekte. De avonturier nam een slok van zijn water en volgde zijn hart. Zonder na te denken haalde hij diep adem en tijdens het rustig uitademen keek hij naar boven. Daar in die ongrijpbare lucht zag hij weer eens een indrukwekkende wolkenformatie. Hij nam nog een slok van het bronwater dat heerlijk zoet smaakte deze keer. Veel zoeter dan daarvoor. Dat was het moment waarop hij zijn oude beschadigde smartphone weer eens tevoorschijn haalde. Ooit leerde hij van een goede vriend op een open dag bij de plaatselijke schietvereniging hoe belangrijk het was om goed te richten, op je ademhaling te letten en zonder beweging de trekker over te halen. Het leverde hem een derde prijs op terwijl het de eerste keer in zijn leven was dat hij een geweer in het echt zag. De ervaren leden van de club waren net als Marco zelf verbouwereerd toen hij bij de prijsuitreiking naar het podium werd geroepen. Zijn goede vriend was een zeer ervaren schutter en werd eerste. Zijn kameraad was ook een grote fan van fotograferen. Een aantal jaren later is de man door een ongeneselijke ziekte helaas al jong overleden. Vandaag was het precies 25 jaar geleden dat Marco samen met zijn goede vriend de open dag op de schietvereniging bezocht. Als een soort eerbetoon aan zijn goede vriend hield Marco zijn smartphone met beide handen omhoog. In gedachten hield hij het geweer van toen vast. Marco scande het gebied dat hij wilde fotograferen en positioneerde zijn smartphone. Hij haalde geconcentreerd adem. Terwijl hij uitademde drukte hij op de knop van de camera en zonder te bewegen nam hij de foto. In gedachten klonk het geluid van het klikken van de camera net als zijn laatste schot op de open dag. De foto was voor hem als een schot in de roos. Spontaan besloot Marco daarna zijn wandeling in het gras op blote voeten voort te zetten. Hij was dit helemaal niet van plan toen hij 's morgens vertrok vanuit zijn hotel en had speciaal voor deze trip nieuwe schoenen gekocht waarop hij heerlijk kon wandelen. Toch was er iets wat in hem zei om ze tijdelijk even uit te trekken. Het bleek een goede ingeving te zijn. Het gras zorgde namelijk voor verkoeling op deze zonovergoten hete zomerdag. Hij had echt het gevoel dat hij op een zacht groen natuurtapijt liep. Al zijn zorgen en angsten leken te verdwijnen toen hij zijn wandeling op het gras in de Beierse stad Lohberg voortzette. Terwijl Marco dieper het weelderige natuurgebied in liep, voelde hij een golf van vrede en kalmte die hij nog niet zo vaak had gevoeld. Hij voelde zich verbonden met de aarde onder zijn voeten, met de natuur en met de mysterieuze energie van de wolken die zich boven hem uitstrekten. De combinatie van de warme zon en de gedachten aan zijn overleden ouders en de overleden vriend van vroeger zorgden ervoor dat de huid op zijn armen begon te tintelen van vreugde. Het was anders dan het kippenvel dat hij vaker gevoeld had als hij aan overleden mensen dacht. Hij had nu echt het gevoel alsof hij in een surrealistische wereld was gestapt en hij wist nu zeker dat de overleden vriend en zijn ouders op dat moment bij hem waren. Toen hij zijn schoenen weer aan had gedaan leek het wel of hij op wolken liep.  Aan het einde van de wandeling was zijn geest helder en werd zijn hart gevuld met gelukzalige energie.
