552 – Canecillos Ábside - Iglesia Santa María de Piasca (Cantabria) - Spain.

            La iglesia de Santa María de Piasca, pertenece al municipio de Cabezón de Liébana en Cantabria - (Spain), consta de tres naves, dos maravillosas portadas denominadas occidental y la sur también denominada del cuerno (lado), un bonito ábside y un interior de gran belleza.
Esta obra fue realizada en el siglo XII por el maestro Covaterio, siendo una maravilla del románico lebaniego.
Vemos algunos canecillos y metopas del ábside, como una sirena de doble cola, centauros luchando y decoración vegetal.

The church of Santa Maria de Piasca, belongs to the municipality of Cabezón de Liébana in Cantabria - (Spain), consists of three naves, two wonderful doors denominated occidental and the south also denominated of the horn (side), a beautiful apse and an interior of great beauty.
This work was made in the twelfth century by the master Covaterio, being a marvel of Romanesque lebaniego.
We see some canecillos and metopas of the apse, like a siren of double tail, fighting centaurs and vegetal decoration.
