The Woodland Graveyard - a photo on Flickriver

Earlier this summer I was camping with some of my close friends near Mt. Rainier in Washington. Right across the river from where our tents were pitched, there was this enormous section of the forest and mountain where all the trees were completely wiped out from what must have been an avalanche or rock-slide a few years earlier. I spent a lot of time climbing through this playground of fallen giants (this photo only depicts a very small section of the entire tree graveyard). While exploring, and getting more cuts and scrapes from the splinters than I care to admit, I couldn't help but imagine how powerful the forces of nature can be. It's quite scary and awesome (using the real definition of the word), and I've been given a whole new level of respect for all of nature and its Creator.
