Night Skies Over Yosemite Falls - a photo on Flickriver

Yosemite really comes alive in the month of May when evidence of spring abounds with blooming dogwoods, spring green oaks and pumping waterfalls; it is for that reason, I love returning every spring season. On this pre-planned visit, the internet blew up with a strong forecast of northern lights over much of the US. I had hoped to witness it in Yosemite Valley, but alas, no dice! That didn’t stop me from practicing my now-rusty astrophotography skills in the hopes aurora would unexpectedly appear. When I got this image home, I saw the slightest tint of magenta in the sky, so….maybe???
