La Baraggia, Savana del Biellese Visit-Piedmont-ITALY

            La Baraggia rappresenta l'ultimo lembo di territorio incolto rimasto tra la pianura e i primi contrafforti delle prealpi Biellesi
Il termine Baraggia, è stato usato per indicare i terreni poco fertili, occupati da vegetazioni spontanee tipiche della brughiera quali rovi, erica, querce.
L’aspetto ancora selvaggio di questo territorio, offre scorci spettacolari tra l'estate e l'autunno: allo sfolgorante e diffuso colore dorato dell'erba si alternano, macchie rosa, tipiche del brugo, e talora marroni (felci aquiline). 
Particolarmente suggestivi e perfettamente inseriti nel paesaggio (anche se sempre meno presenti), i greggi di pecore che stazionano temporaneamente in Baraggia.
