Decked Out -BW 93/100 - a photo on Flickriver

            A friend took me to the  Winterthur Holiday display for my birthday.  

Tour rooms were all decked out various family holiday traditions with lots of lights, flowers and ways of dispensing gifts and eating of meals though the years were on display.

I hit the jackpot upon entering this room.  The walls were covered in wallpaper with walls and windows printed on it. There  was a nice window behind the christmas tree filled with artificial light, which just happens to be this weeks 100x theme.

Captured with iPhone edited on the desktop with Photoshop Viveza, then into Alien Skin Exposure x2 for some black and white editing and then the the color image was processed again in Silver Efex Pro.
The two black and white layers were blended together with masks and blend modes.

It is a grand place to visit anytime of the year.  We are lucky to have it so close and I highly recommend putting it on your list of places to visit if you are in the area.  There is a good deal to see both in and outside of the museum so leave enough time when planing a visit.

It was the former home of Henry Francis du Pont (1880–1969), a renowned antiques collector and horticulturist. Until recently, it was known as the Henry Francis DuPont Winterthur Museum.

In the early 20th century, H. F. du Pont and his father, Henry Algernon du Pont, designed Winterthur in the spirit of 18th- and 19th-century European country houses.

 The younger du Pont added to the home many times thereafter, increasing its number of rooms by nearly sixfold.

 After he established the main building as a public museum in 1951, he moved to a smaller building on the estate.

Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library is an American estate and museum in Winterthur, Delaware.

 As of 2011, it houses one of the most important collections of Americana in the United States of America.
