Colourful geometry, Varanasi, India - a photo on Flickriver

            Malviya bridge, inaugurated in 1887, is a 1059 meters long double decker bridge over the Ganges. It carries rail track on the lower deck and the 'Grand Trunk Road' on the upper deck. 

The bridge uses an estimated 42 million rivets, sadly I could not find a more accurate number online. On location I stopped counting very quickly due to heat and better things to do, namely shoot and chat with people, all whilst making fruitless efforts to keep the sweat from running into my eyes and it wasn't even the hot season when I was there.
