Catskill Cat

            Catskill is a small village along the Hudson River in Greene County, NY. The name comes from Kaatskill, meaning Kaat's Creek, which was bestowed by early Dutch settlers of the area. Because of the name, Catskill has become associated with felines, and there are currently fiberglass cats scattered all around the business district of the village, each one created and signed by various local artists. Some of these cats relate to nearby businesses--this one sits in front of a movie theater. People come from all over to see the Catskill cats...
