Une épaisse couche de neige provoqua de nombreuses chutes d'arbres et de branches dans toute l'agglomération.
Le réseau VBZ, suspendu depuis la veille à 22:00 heures, était encore intégralement à l'arrêt le vendredi 15 janvier 2021 à la mi-journée.
En attendant la remise sous tension de certains axes, la motrice chasse-neige ex Kurbeli Xe 4/4 1923 effectuait des rondes dans le secteur de la gare centrale.

Des lignes de tram, de trolleybus et d'autobus ont été progressivement réactivées dans le courant de l'après-midi.
