Along the strands of the Web - a photo on Flickriver

            I bet you thought I'd run out of material, didn't you?  Not at all, not at all.  Rev. Dr Haggard-Montefiori, the elderly clergyman and divine who is the archivist at Bentos Towers reported to me on these matters only the other day.  "You may rest assured that our holdings of daguerreotypes are of indefinite supply.  Why, only the other day Hedges, the estate carpenter, and some of his men, found a cache of further material up in the roof of the chapel, where your late grandfather had his photographical laboratory.  It is of a sufficiency to last until such time as the, ah, the Flickr, ah website" ...he enunciated these terms with obvious distaste... "shall perish, or until Judgement Day, whichever shall be the sooner.  In the meantime, my dear sir, publication of your illustrated notes on the intercommunicating galvanic apparatus may continue as before".  Oh dear.  I'm afraid he has always regarded my Flickr activities with a certain asperity; but, as I have occasionally suggested to him, those wishing to communicate must avail themselves of the means rendered by the technology of their time.
The reason I've not posted for a while is that I've been busy with a couple of projects that must take precedence.  Oh all right, if you must know, I've been prevailed upon to do a couple of books.  I've about completed the first and I am allowing myself a Churchillian "brief period of rejoicing" before once more taking up the grim task.  I'm afraid there may be a further paucity of uploads during the months to come.  I've recently had to go through all my photos of Westerns (yes, this is a clue), so here, to be going on with, is an unused snap of D1028 WESTERN HUSSAR mouldering in the scrapyard at Swindon Works on Saturday 27th November 1976.
