生態與分佈 Ecology ：
頭戴小紅帽的山紅頭為台灣普遍留鳥。由於僅有頭頂為紅栗色，為其主要的特徵所在，故得其名。
棲息分布很廣，從平地至海拔3000公尺之間，而且能適應多種不同的林相，只要林下灌叢茂密就有牠們出沒，性活潑、好動，喜穿梭低矮藤蔓植物枝椏間跳躍，不善飛行，通常單獨或成小群活動。
以昆蟲及其幼蟲、植物種籽、漿果或果實等為食。
發出單調「呼、呼、呼、呼、、、、、」之聲，有時會突然叫似「救急--」哨音。
