looking, but do they see? - a photo on Flickriver

Dominating the news for the last two days is the story of 'Ferrari Joe', a police colonel, on the run after allegedly killing a drug suspect while trying to get the suspect to increase his bribe. While searching for him, it has been discovered that this police colonel is one of Thailand's mega-rich with a huge 60 million baht house inside a huge compound that includes a football field and 29 luxury cars in Bangkok. Makes me wonder how many of his fellow policemen knew how wealthy he was and why that didn't strike them as suspicious. Apparently rich policemen are not unusual because I read not long ago that the national police chief and his family are worth 104 million baht.
