The Real Face Under The Skin - Richmond Country Farm XT1541e

            Many people are surprised by what Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung has said to the reporters in his interview by western media earlier in the week.

Leung said there are half of the people in Hong Kong making less than US$1,800 a month. 

Leung said that if candidates were nominated by the public then the largest sector of society would likely dominate the electoral process. 

As commented by columnist Alex Lo in SCMP.com and quoted here:

"You have probably heard his comment about how open elections would let the poor and grass roots of society dominate politics and create a welfare state. The sentiment is nothing unusual. It's how the business elite and the government think, with their steadfast refusal to expand the social safety net for fear of creating a welfare state. We only do welfare for the rich. Still, it's rare to have a leader speak so frankly."

Even if you are really hatred of democracy, the grass -roots and the lower class in the society, an average politician nowadays will give speech carefully to hide his/her real intentions and thoughts.

It is now even more clear to the people in Hong Kong. Do you want an open election or the screened system so that candidates like CY Leung supported by central government will come into power again?
