My first Lockheed C-5A Galaxy 69-0015 of 436MAW seen at the Greenham Common Air Tattoo in 1977. It was a memorable experience to walk through the cavernous aircraft from front to back. The roaming people give some sense of scale.

69-0015 c/n 500-0046 - Lockheed C-5A Galaxy - one of the later batches of C-5As produced, delivered to the 436th MAW in 1970. Still in service as of 2015 after an impressive 46 years service - based at Stewart AFB.

One of a small number of slides taken by me in 1977-78, before I purchased my first SLR camera - a Zenith E. From an original slide, scanned and unrestored.
