Ein ganz spezielles architektonisches Geheimnis ist eine Treppe – und zwar die Treppe an der Hafenspitze, zwischen Hyatt Regency Hotel und seinem gespiegelten Zwillingsbau. Auf den ersten Blick sieht die Treppe aus wie eine ganz normale Treppe. Nur dass der Mittelteil abgetrennt ist: Um ihn herum ist ein Geländer geführt. Derjenige, der auf diesen Stufen nach oben spaziert, dort nicht weitergehen kann. Wenn sie nicht gerade hochgeklappt ist – und das ist in 99,9 Prozent der Zeit der Fall – verrät sie ihr Geheimnis nicht.

A very special architectural secret is a staircase – the staircase at the top of the harbor, between the Hyatt Regency Hotel and its mirrored twin building. At first glance, the staircase looks like a normal staircase. Only that the middle part is separated: around it is a railing led. The one who walks up these steps cannot continue there. If it hasn't just opened up – and it does 99. 9 percent of the time – it doesn't reveal its secret.
