Little Beauty | Manul - Pallas's cat ( Otocolobus manul ) ♀

Der Manul ist eine Kleinkatze Zentralasiens, welche etwa die Größe einer Hauskatze erreicht. Sie wirkt durch ihren gedrungenen Körperbau und das dichte Fell, welches in ihrem schneereichen Lebensraum effektiv wärmt, eher größer als diese.

Manule sind nachtaktive Einzelgänger. Ihr Gesamtbestand wird auf ca 50.000 Tiere geschätzt. Die IUCN stuft den Manul als "near threatened" ein.

Diese junge Manuldame ist vor kurzem in den Zoo Neuwied gezogen und wurde später mit einem Männchen vergesellschaftet.
