Memorial de la Reina Victoria - a photo on Flickriver

            Esta  escultura que está situada en frente de Buckingham Palace , es de la reina Victoria sentada y rodeada de figuras que simbolizan diferentes aspectos como la verdad, la perseverancia, la paz, el arte, el progreso, la ciencia y la justicia.  Es un homenaje del pueblo conmemorando que la Gran Bretaña volvió a vivir una etapa de florecimiento bajo el reinado de la Reina Victoria, coronada a los 18 años, que gobernó durante 64 años, crió a 9 hijos y dio su nombre a toda una época.
En 1910, Sir Aston Webb realizó la estatua que costó 250,000 libras. Fue exclusivamente financiada con donativos y se utilizaron 2.300 toneladas de mármol blanco para construirla.
