Whooping Cranes: Teaching The Youngster

            These wild whooping cranes are found in Horicon National Refuge in central Wisconsin.  The male and female have transmitters on their legs so they can be monitored.  There are about 800 whoopers in the world, and I am guessing less than 200 colts are born yearly.

They are magnificent birds that deserve all the help they can get to survive.
