Emerald damselfly (explored) - a photo on Flickriver

The name "emerald" damselfly fits perfectly for this little beauty. One can find it in th palearctic realm near ponds and lakes. In my region here in Germany one can see them quite frequent in June to August.

Das Wort "Smaragd" im englischen Namen passt perfekt zu dieser kleinen Schönheit. Im Deutschen ist diese Libelle auch besser bekannt als "Gemeine Binsenjungfer". Man findet sie in der Nähe von Teichen zwischen Juni und August.
