Chillin' - a photo on Flickriver

Chillin'

These chirpers were the second batch of birds born and raised on my porch before I decided to knock down the nest after their first flights (the parents were attacking me every time I went out on the porch, so I decided two batches of birds was enough).

They were reppin' the west side of San Marcos, TX, USA in this photo.

This is the floor of my porch on my second floor apartment. They jumped from their nest that was at my eye level to the porch floor and then they made their way slowly to the edge of my porch and balcony where they made a fearless jump off the second floor balcony to the ground below. Shortly after that, I did not see them anymore. I took a few photos of one of the brave compadres as he made his ascent (more like a descent) into adulthood, but just like the Wright brothers, his first attempt was unsuccessful. I kept a watch on them, but they disappeared. I hope that they finally flew away, but I'm really not sure.

Also, I'm not quite sure of the species. I think that they are some type of swallow though. I will read the comments again and see if anybody decided on the species and I will update the note here with the species information.
