Prairie flowers in their glory - a photo on Flickriver

            Thanks to my friend Rebecca, I learned several new flowers on our hike. Besides getting to see the Scarlet Paintbrush with the vivid red and orange tones, she also introduced me to Hoary Puccoon, which is the smaller yellow flowers seen. 

I am not sure what the purpose of the steel re-bar is. I assume it is making some sort of boundary preserve.
