Lake Lanier Start of Sunrise (0788) - a photo on Flickriver

            At the last moment I decided to change lenses, about a minute before the sun crested the horizon over the lake.  I moved down to the waters edge where I could shoot low and close to the water, and among the rocks on shore.  I also added two Neutral Density filters (+4 & +6) to the wide angle lens, stopping down the aperture to f/22.  I wanted to get that kind of soft and creamy look that comes from leaving the shutter open for a few seconds.  That did the trick and smoothed out the water, giving me the reflection of sunlight I wanted.  I was pleased with the results.
