            Being a Mets fan is an exercise is pain management. When I was a kid my brother and I divided up the NYC teams – I got the Yankees, Islanders & Giants, he the Mets, Rangers & Jets (not sure what happen to the basketball teams). There wasn’t a lot of thought that went into this as I remember – perhaps I liked Giants blue better than Jets green or Yankees dark blue over the Mets blue and orange. But my hat is off to all the diehard Mets fans – they keep saying “you gotta believe” (from Tug McGraw in 1973) in the face of crushing defeat. But I admire the loyalty; my brother still loves the Mets and is as fiercely loyal to them as he is to his family. So Let’s Go Mets! Picture here a dog dressed in various Mets attire outside of Citi Field…where my brother took us to box seats right behind home plate. After a 7 inning rally where it looked like his beloved Mets might pull it out, the Mets choked for the loss.
