Family - a photo on Flickriver

Family

            Flickr can be a double edge sword at times, it's great to see so many superb photographs of all genres and in all lights but at the end of the day it's the photographs that shout for your attention that tend to get most favorites, comments etc.
A wonderfully colourful sunrise, perhaps using a 10 stop to give extraordinary streaks of colour in the sky or reflected in the sea will suck in all the views. And after all isn't that at least part of the reason any of us post on Flickr? for a bit of attention and validation that we're doing something right with our cameras? All of this can condition the week minded among us (that will be me) to ignore any images we (I) make that may be of the more subtle variety, those that benefit from looking a little closer and taking our time rather than faving a thumbnail.
Perhaps at 45 I want to grow up so balls to the faves and here's a more subtle image that I like. 
An early start saw me shivering on top of Cliff Rigg in the North Yorkshire Moors waiting seemingly forever for the light to illuminate the classic shot of Rosebery topping from this small hill. Having got my cliched shot (I'm sure I'll get around to posting it eventually and it will get more views, faves. comments etc than this shot) I looked elsewhere and was drawn to this little family of trees nestled in the frosty fields. I hope at least some of you like it, because I do.
