Gone to Seed

Many years back I had a friend who'd photograph bicycle races, then show his slides to the Kalamazoo Bicycle Club. He'd occasionally apologize that the next image was "arty." Well, January 22 was an "arty" day.

I stayed at home a year back, shooting pix of gone-to-seed flowers and other things in our yard. I played with framing, I played with depth of field; my camera had a bit of fun.

The Coneflower above had been picked clean of seeds by the songbirds. For the daily-photo pic I framed our snow shovels, the garage, and our deck, with a cat named Dirty Snowball looking on.

I'm quite proud of both photographs.
