Lead Me Along - a photo on Flickriver

Lead Me Along

This scene has been photographed so much I decided to experiment with composition. It is always an enjoyable and sometimes challenging exercise to come up with something a bit different or unusual of a commonly viewed scene.

In this image the subject (Big Ben) is pushed to the left beyond the usual 1/3 sweat spot. In a workshop with Jay Masiel he said one image that inspired him was Arnold Newman's portrait of Igor Stravinsky where Newman pushed the traditional rules of composition to create his compelling image.
