AELÓPILO DE HERÓN DE ALEJANDRÍA. - a photo on Flickriver

            Pieza exhibida en el Museo del Automóvil de Salamanca, recreación realizada por el escultor Andrés Álvarez Ilzarbe, " Herón de Alejandría fue un conocido sabio, matemático y físico griego que vivió en Alejandría en el siglo I a.J.C. Fue el primero en experimentar con la fuerza del vapor y fruto de sus trabajos es este aparato. Su funcionamiento es muy sencillo: al calentarse el agua contenida en el recipiente, el vapor pasa a la esfera a través de dos tubos laterales sobre los que pivota y sale por las espitas opuestas que hay en la esfera.  Por el principio de reacción, ésta gira alcanzando grandes velocidades.  Es el primer ingenio con el que el hombre logró generar un movimiento mediante la fuerza del vapor

"Heron of Alexandria was a well-known Greek scientist, mathematician and physicist who lived in Alexandria in the first century before Jesus Christ. He was the first to experiment with the power of steam and the result of his work is this device. Its operation is very simple: When the water contained in the container heats up, the steam passes into the sphere through two lateral tubes on which it pivots and exits through the opposite spigots on the sphere. By the reaction principle, it rotates reaching high speeds. the first device with which man managed to generate a movement through the force of steam.

"Héron d'Alexandrie était un scientifique, mathématicien et physicien grec bien connu qui a vécu à Alexandrie au premier siècle avant Jésus-Christ. Il a été le premier à expérimenter le pouvoir de la vapeur et le résultat de son travail est cet appareil. Son fonctionnement est très simple: Lorsque l'eau contenue dans le récipient s'échauffe, la vapeur passe dans la sphère par deux tubes latéraux sur lesquels elle pivote et sort par les ergots opposés de la sphère, elle tourne par principe de réaction pour atteindre des vitesses élevées. le premier appareil avec lequel l'homme a réussi à générer un mouvement par la force de la vapeur
